- Approval is at the discretion of Jersey’s Housing and Work Advisory Group.
Taxation for High Value Residents
- 20% on the first £1,250,000 of worldwide income (equivalent to £250,000 tax).
- 1% on all income above £1,250,000.
- 20% on Jersey property-derived income.
- No capital gains tax, inheritance tax, or wealth tax.
- Goods and Services Tax (GST) at just 5%.
- Corporate tax is generally 0%, with regulated financial services firms taxed at 10%.

Routes to Residency
Open Market Residency
- Purchase or rent on the Open Market for immediate residency.
- No employment or ancestry restrictions.
Economic Contribution Route
- Residency may also be granted to those who bring significant economic benefit through personal wealth, business investment, or entrepreneurial activity.
- Applications are considered on a case-by-case basis by the Population Management Office.
Taxation Overview
- 20% flat rate of income tax for individuals.
- No capital gains tax, inheritance tax, or wealth tax.
- No VAT or GST.
- Corporate tax generally 0%, with certain sectors taxed at 10–20%.
- A tax cap is available, limiting liability on non-Guernsey source income to £150,000 per annum (subject to eligibility).
